Dear Lovely Reader,
We live in a world that constantly tells us to “be ourselves,” yet at the same time, we’re bombarded with messages about what’s in, what’s cool, and what’s trending. Social media tells us how to live, how to look, how to be, and many of us are left feeling conflicted.
We try to navigate who we truly are beneath all the noise, between what we feel and what we think we should be. And in that struggle, we often experience a deep fragmentation, a subtle but chronic disconnection from ourselves.
Many of us are living in pieces, trying to put ourselves back together, trying to remember who we were before the world told us who we should be.
The truth is, when you begin to show up as your true self, things around you may start to quieten. Why? Because much of the world is used to people following trends, following the crowd. But when you choose a path of authenticity, whether in your daily life or in your online presence, you’re choosing to come home to yourself. You’re choosing to gather those forgotten pieces, the parts of you that were buried under the need to be liked, validated, and accepted.
Imagine being the fullest, most honest version of yourself, whatever that looks like. Not the polished or perfected self, but the real one. The messy one. The evolving one. It’s a radical, beautiful idea. And while it’s not something that happens overnight, this is deep, layered work, it is work worth doing.
Unpacking this means facing the conditioning we’ve all absorbed. It means asking why we crave external validation in the first place. What’s the deeper need we’re trying to meet? And who are we really, underneath it all?
You might not find the answer right away. But what you will find, over time, are different versions of yourself, pieces that were hidden, suppressed, reshaped by experience and story. And yes, it can be scary to let those parts be seen. You might worry, “If people knew this version of me, would they still love me?” But the more we practice showing up as our whole selves, vulnerably, truthfully, something begins to shift.
Even if we’re no longer the most liked, the most followed, or the most “relevant,” we are real. And with that realness comes a kind of peace, alignment, and flow that no trend can offer. We stop grasping for what’s outside us and begin living from a place of wholeness. And life? It starts to reflect that back to us in some pretty magical ways.
Sometimes I ask myself: What would it look like to detox from all the noise?
Who am I beneath the layers of performance, protection, and proving?
I don’t have all the answers. I’m still asking, still unlearning, still discovering. But I want to invite you to ask, too. Because in a world that thrives on division, distraction, and disconnection, returning to ourselves is a radical act.
It ties in with what I wrote last week about our internal compass, our true North. The more we learn to listen to that quiet guidance within, the less we need the world to tell us who we are. We start trusting our own timing, our own voice, our own truth.
And from that place, we return, not to being cool or relevant, but to being whole.
And really, what’s more powerful than that?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on that, share with me here or on Instagram @thehannahwallace.
Augusts blog post is up, take a read and enjoy.
Have you listened to myself and
yet on the podcast talk about her new book “The Girl Who Baptized Herself” (buy here), listen to the full episode below of this divine conversation. This weeks card is from Sophie Bashford’s “The earth and sky oracle”deck.
This week’s card, Air Spirit Communication, is beautifully aligned with the collective energy we’re moving through. We’ve just passed the Full Moon in Aquarius, and with Mercury going direct on Monday the 11th, we’re emerging from a period of inner reflection, recalibration, and cocoon-like stillness.
The winds of change have been blowing through, clearing out mental cobwebs, softening old patterns, and revealing where communication has felt stuck or unclear. This may not just be about how we’ve been connecting with others, it’s also about how we’ve been speaking to ourselves, or even where we’ve been avoiding saying what really needs to be said.
As we step into this new week, we’re invited to reframe, realign, and reset.
But there’s no need to rush.
This isn’t the moment to leap into loud declarations or hurried decisions.
Instead, let this be a gentle emergence, like waking up slowly from a deep winter’s rest. Give yourself the grace to adjust. You may still be finding the right words, still forming clarity around what needs to be said or done differently.
Perhaps you’ve been holding back, waiting for the right time to speak, to express, to shift the way you communicate in your relationships, in your work, with your children, or with yourself. That’s okay. The invitation now is to let the energy move through you, to reconnect with your own inner voice and allow that clarity to rise at its own pace.
Let this week be less about having all the answers, and more about allowing space for your truth to take shape.
Think of it as a spiritual exhale.
Even a small shift in the way you communicate, internally or externally, can ripple out and make a meaningful difference. Pay attention to what’s subtly changing. You may find that something clicks into place, not because you forced it, but because you allowed it to surface naturally.
We’ve had a powerful chance to pause, to reflect, and to listen within. In a world that rarely gives us that space, these cosmic pauses are gifts.
So as Mercury moves direct, trust that the fog is lifting. But let yourself move slowly.
This is a week for mindful emergence, not immediate action.
Let spirit guide your words.
Let air and breath return gently.
Let your truth come home.
I hope everyone has a good week ahead, do share this with anyone who may enjoy it, it’s greatly appreciated.
All my love
